These terms and conditions (“Terms and Conditions”) govern your use of the website accessed through mkcanines.com (the "Website") and any orders you place through the Website.
Please read the Terms and Conditions carefully as they affect your liabilities under the law. By using the Website, you are deemed to accept the Terms and Conditions and, before proceeding with an appointment, you will be required to show that you have read and understood them by clicking on the "I accept" button at the end of these Terms and Conditions. Please note that you will be required to do this each and every time you place an appointment through the Website. If you do not agree to these Terms and Conditions, please do not register for use or use the Website.
1. Booking Policy:

A £20 deposit is required to secure all dog grooming bookings valued at over £30, this will be taken off the final payment. Your deposit will be requested once we contact you to confirm your details.

The full payment for grooming services is due after the completion of the appointment.

Customers may cancel their appointment free of charge up to 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time. If a cancellation occurs within 24 hours of the appointment time, the customer will forfeit the £20 deposit.

2. Flea Policy:
We are committed to maintaining a clean and safe environment for all pets and staff. To ensure the well-being of every dog we groom, we have implemented the following flea policy.
If upon inspection, we discover fleas or signs of infestation on a dog scheduled for grooming, we are unable to proceed with the grooming session to prevent the potential spread of fleas to other pets and our facility. In such instance a supplemental fee of £10 will be applied in addition to the standard grooming price to cover the additional time, effort and precautionary measures required.
The full grooming fee will still be applicable, regardless of whether the grooming session was completed or not, by scheduling an appointment with MK Canines, you acknowledge and agree to comply with this flea policy.
3. Matting/Clipping Policy:
When a dog arrives severely matted, our commitment to animal welfare drives our actions. According to the Animal Welfare Act 2006, if a dog requires more than 15 minutes of de-matting, we are obligated by law to ether clip the dog humanely or refer you to a veterinarian for the same.
Upon assessment of your dog's conditions, we'll inform you and request your signature on a de-matting waiver. This grants us permission to clip your dog's coat short if necessary, prioritising their welfare over cosmetic preferences. Failure to sign the waiver will result in us being unable to proceed with the grooming session, with the full grooming price remaining applicable.
Our aim is to de-mat your dog before resorting to clipping, an additional cost of £10 will be added to cover the extra time and effort spent on your dog during the de-matting session. If clipping becomes necessary, under the Animal Welfare Act 2006, which mandates protection from pain, injury, suffering and disease, we adhere strictly to guidelines. After 15 minutes of de-matting, should clipping be required an additional fee of £5 will be applied alongside the de-matting fee and the standard grooming charges.
4. Refusal of service:
We reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog for the health and safety of the groomer and/or the dog. Services may be discontinued if we determine that a dog presents an unsafe condition. Such conditions include but are not limited to: behaviour issues, health problems and parasites. By booking your appointment will MK Canines, you agree that you will be liable for any harm, injury or property damage caused by your dog.
5. Old age dogs:
If your dog is of an age that we consider to be elderly, only grooming work that they will tolerate will be carried out. We will not cause undue stress to an elderly dog; however, all work will be attempted.
6. Photos/Videos:
When booking your appointment with MK Canines, you give us permission to take photos/videos of your dog during the grooming process, the photos may be posted on social media and might be used in promotional materials.
